Our Story
My name is Daralee Kittelson and I am the creative behind DK Design Inspirations and DK Virtual Co. I am a Canadian furniture refinisher and interior redesigner living on an acreage in the Prairies. Beyond my love for transforming spaces and pieces of furniture, I’m a proud mom to an amazing son and share my home with my husband, son, three lively Labradors, and two adorable rabbits.
In 2020, I opened Jewels and Jems Furniture Redesigns, a home decor shop, workshop, and refinishing studio. After four fulfilling years, I made the decision to close the physical location on June 30, 2024, to shift my focus toward new opportunities. I recently took on a part-time role at a commercial print shop, where I continue to work in the creative and design world—just through a different medium, from business cards to wedding invitations!
Although I have closed my storefront, I still offer custom furniture refinishing and Fusion Mineral Paint through my online store. My passion for design hasn’t changed—I love sharing the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way! I’ll continue to write my blog, bringing you inspiration in design, refinishing, and a touch of hygge and fun.
